Women & Girls Football Festival 2020 a huge success!

Following the success of the inaugural Women & Girls Football Festival in 2019 we were excited to be able to run the festival again as planned this year despite Covid-19.
A few adjustments to the day were needed but nothing that got in the way of players and spectators enjoying a weekend of football!
We were delighted to have all age groups represented from under 9’s through to our Women’s team, and even our newly formed over 30’s women’s team lined up on the pitch for their first match as a team.
For many teams taking part in our festival the weekend was the first chance for girls and women to be playing together as a team since March. It was clear to see how much players were relishing being back on the pitch!

What a great day and well organised by Rugby! Was brilliant to play against all the great teams today, well done all!
FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS
Under 9's
The youngest age group take part and the only Rugby Borough FC winners across the weekend! We couldn’t be prouder of our Under 9’s team.
Victory was all the sweeter for them having missed out on playing in their cup final in March because of lockdown. They were raring to go and stormed to victory!
