RBWGFC Awarded £25,000 to Improve Facilities for Women and Girls

Rugby Borough Women & Girls FC is delighted to announce that we have been awarded £25,000 through the Football Foundation’s Lionesses Here to Play Fund, a programme specifically designed to improve grassroots facilities for women and girls in football.

The funding follows direct feedback from our members. Last year’s club survey identified toilet refurbishments and improved CCTV coverage as top priorities for our players, families and volunteers at Kilsby Lane. We listened, and we’re proud that this application has been successful.

What the funding will deliver

The £25,000 award will go towards:

• Refurbishing the female toilets and disabled/baby changing facilities inside the Clubhouse at Kilsby Lane
• Installing additional CCTV coverage across the site

Together, these improvements will make Kilsby Lane a safer, more welcoming and more inclusive facility for every female player, family member and visitor who uses it, whether they’re at their first Wildcats session or turning out for the Women’s first team.

Why this matters

Good facilities aren’t a nice-to-have. Clean, well-maintained toilet and changing provision, and strong site security, are basic conditions for growing women’s and girls’ football and for making sure everyone at the club feels safe and valued. With more than 25 girls teams now playing across the club, from Wildcats (4+) through to senior level, and our Female Talent Pathway continuing to grow, the timing of this investment couldn’t be better.
