10th November 2022
- Date:6th Nov 2023
- League: Leicestershire U12 Yellow
- Venue: Kilsby Lane
After beating Quorn away last week 6-1 we were hoping for plenty more goals this week and that’s exactly what we got.
The girls started off strong this week and were on the front foot as soon as the whistle blew.
The midfielder’s were dictating play with Jess, Isla and Anna playing some great football to set up plenty of attacks.
Half way through the first half Megan had a shot which hit the post, she followed up her shot to score the rebound.
Ruby was the focal point of our attack and was linking up brilliantly with the midfielder’s to put constant pressure on the Quorn defence.
The second half the girls started amazingly. Shortly after the restart Megan added her second of the game with a composed finish.
The defensive unit of Lexi, Mia, Peyton, Maia and Ava were dominating the Quorn attackers which led to Quorn not having many chances, Lexi made some wonderful long runs up the wing, Peyton and Mia pushed up enough to even get a few shots off,
Maia came out of nowhere on occasions to steal the ball back and Ava showed how much she has learnt by confidently organising the defensive line.
When the opposition did get through Chloe dealt with it quickly, which resulted in her keeping another clean sheet this week.
Freya played well in a number of positions, putting in some good crosses and had a shot that hit the post which Ese finished off nicely.
The girls were playing like the Lionesses and showing a great display of football.
Towards the end of the game Maia played a great ball to Ruby who showed lovely control to score.
Megan then picked up the ball in her own half before beating a couple of defenders and slotting the ball past the keeper to complete her hat trick.
The sixth goal was an own goal after a good cross in from Anna.
Final score was 6-0 to Rugby Borough, the girls made it 7 wins on the bounce with another excellent performance.
Player of the match was Mia for an excellent composed display in defence.
Thank you to Gaz for reffing and Brett for running the line.
