MATCH REPORT

U12 Girls v Croft Juniors

26th October 2022

The girls arrived a Kilsby Lane just after their coach had finished his rain dance, meaning it had dried out nicely for the match.

They started out strong this week and got their first goal within the first 2 minutes courtesy of a fine strike from Ruby.

During the first half the opposition had the majority of their players in defence which made it difficult to break down, but this also meant our defensive unit could push much further forward, Ava and Peyton even managed to take some shots at goal.

Rugby extended their lead through an excellent strike from Freya who continued her great run of form

Into the second half the girls really got their passing game going.  Anna made a great run, cutting in from the wing to score a lovely goal.  Isla was unlucky not to convert some of her chances from the other wing, the spectators held their breath a few times.

The next goal came from Megan nicely assisted by Ruby.  Maia and Mia showed their versatility by playing in numerous positions to a high standard, you could easily forget they are playing up a year.  Chloe had a very quiet morning, which we all like to see, but as always she dealt with anything that came her way.

Along came another goal, Anna made a great cross that Ruby dummied which Megan then slotted away.  Jess used her athleticism to keep the opposition at bay and the ball in their half.

The girls weren’t finished yet! A cross from Megan saw Freya convert another great goal and just before the final whistle Ruby used her amazing dribbling skills to get around all of the players in her way scoring a lovely goal.

A great 7-0 win for the girls who all played really well as a team.

Player of the match was Maia for excellent work in defence and midfield

Thank you to Simon for staying around to run the line
