MATCH REPORT

U10 Girls v Coalville Ravenettes

23rd May 2021

The girls travelled to Coalville with just the 7 players and delivered another amazing performance

On what was the biggest pitch we have played on each girls knew they would have to play the full match and all of them gave absolutely everything for each other

Peyton started in goal and carried on her fine form showing excellent handling when called upon and also using her kicking to great effect.   At the back Lyra was displaying her excellent understanding of the game to break up opposition attacks before they got going. Sophia was showing what a good defender she is becoming by really committing to the tackle to break up play.  Summer started in midfield and carried on from last week by winning the ball back and starting attacks aided by Emily’s accurate passing and great tackling.  Ruby & Anna linked up beautifully to create multiple chances for the team during the first and second periods. It was great to see the team get the reward their play deserved.

As the match moved into the third period the lack of subs and big pitch was beginning to show which allowed the opposition to create a few chances. Lyra took over goalkeeping duty and was called into action to make some great saves.  Summer & Sophia were working very hard make numerous good tackles to break up attacks as the opposition pushed forward.  Emily slotted in to help the defence through this period with her strong tackling

In the 4th quarter the girls could see the finish line & had a new lease of life.  Ruby who never stopped running all game was showing excellent skill to get past the opposition supported by Anna’s willingness to break forward and the two of them carved out lots of chances in this period and displayed good composure in front of goal.  At the other end Peyton was back between the sticks and made some more great saves at important times.

A fabulous performance from this group of girls who continue to improve with every match.

Player of the match was Ruby for her excellent dribbling and creating lots of chances for the team
