England Lionesses inspiring the next generation
29th October 2025
It’s been an unforgettable few weeks for our Rugby Borough Women & Girls members, with several of our players getting the chance to experience England football up close.
Three of our girls from the u14s and u15s teams were invited to St George’s Park to watch the England Lionesses train and then meet the squad afterwards for photos and autographs. It was a truly special day, seeing their heroes in action, witnessing the level of skill and professionalism on show, and getting to chat with the players who inspire so many of us to keep pushing our own game forward. Thank you to Nike Football for this opportunity!
Meanwhile, other members of the club were invited to watch the England U23 Lionesses train at St George’s Park, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at the next generation of talent making their mark on the national stage.
And to top it off, a group of our members headed to Sixfields Stadium in Northampton to watch the U23 Lionesses take on Portugal. It was a brilliant match and an incredible opportunity for our girls to see international football live, and to cheer on the future stars of the women’s game.
A huge thank you to Birmingham County FA who gave us the opportunity to watch the U23s train and play following a visit to meet the new committee and see our girls train earlier in the month!
Moments like these are what grassroots football is all about, inspiring young players, creating memories, and showing what’s possible.
