MATCH REPORT
U11 Girls v Market Bosworth
- Date: 11th October 2020
- League: Leicestershire Women & Girls U11 Green Division
- Venue: Kilsby Lane
And Breathe! Both teams delivered another barnstormer of a match at Kilsby Lane on a lovey sunny day for the beautiful game. The Boro had a large squad and so the match was split into quarters to make the most of this.
The girls started off very competitively from the first whistle & it was great to see both teams looking to attack whenever they could. Evelyn showed her excellent tackling skills by continually winning 50/50 balls to regain possession for the team whilst Summer looked very assured for her first ever match in defence. It was great to see some of the attacking link up play paying off with great passing between Imogen, Anna & Ava creating good opportunities for the team. The 2nd quarter players started with the same drive and determination as the departing players and took the game to the opposition. Freya in between making some excellent saves was busy setting up attacks from her long kicking which Amber & Anais took full advantage off with some strong running & forward play whilst in midfield Emily & Leah worked tirelessly to limit the opposition attacks. The 3rd quarter saw both teams go end to end in search of more goals however Connie was on hand to intercept a lot of the opposition play and start moves for the team. Into the 4th quarter and the opposition really threw everything at Boro which meant Holly & Lyra had big job in defence which they stood up to brilliantly by making lots of blocks and tackles.
For the second week in a row the girls delivered a fabulously entertaining match to keep all the spectators on the edge of their seats (technically edge of the hill) until the end. Well done girls!
