MATCH REPORT

Coundon Court vs Rugby Borough U9 Eagles

19th September 2021

After a poor performance last week and a much improved training session on Wednesday, the boys didn’t disappoint in today’s performance!

A very tough game today, with the boys starting extremely bright and battling throughout the first half. Seb’s performance was outstanding as he stepped in for Louie as goalkeeper, he pulled off some great saves and was brave coming off his line to stop the opposition’s attackers from shooting.

In the second half the Eagles started quickly again with Jayden causing an absolute nuisance for Coundon’s defence. Enzo and Lucas were strong at the back and put in an amazing performance for the majority of the game! Robert was an anchor in the middle of the park and Jayden’s movement with the ball at his feet was a joy to watch from the sidelines!

Having just 1 substitute for the team made it harder for the boys as they had all worked hard through the match and they started to get tired in the last 10 minutes.

Overall, Coach Ryan wanted to get the boys back performing with confidence after last week’s game and they couldn’t have answered his calls any better today!

Great achievement with shortages in the team and a tough opposition.

Player of the match – Lucas, for his work and concentration in training that he has brought through to this weekend’s game. His strength, tackling, communication and positioning was outstanding!

Squad: Seb, Lucas, Enzo, Robert, Kian, Amalfi, Euan, Jayden
