Rugby Borough U16 Colts (1) vs Stratford Town (4)

This game showcased a great defensive display from the Colts against the fastest attacking team in the league. Sam was fantastic in goal and made numerous saves to deny Stratford. With just one sub to call on it was always going to be difficult. But Will, Harry, Nathan and Herbie stuck to their tasks well and it took some great play to beat them.

Going forwards the Colts had their chances as they hit Stratford on the break, with Thomas, Somi and Archie all going close, before a pass from Nathan released Thomas on the halfway line. Despite the speed advantage of the defender Thomas turned him well and drove into the box to beat the keeper, making the score 1-2.

Further chances were created as Danny, Sam and Jack worked tirelessly in midfield and played some good passes through to the forwards. However, it was not all one-way traffic, and the Colts were made to compete by a tireless and victorious opposition until the final whistle.
