Match Report – 6th September 2020
The Colts started the season against one of the league favourites and put in a better performance than the score suggested. The visitors were sharp from the off, with Will, Harry, Nathan and Herbie all having to work hard. But despite some resolute defending the Colts found themselves 2-0 down.
They got themselves back in the match when Thomas raced clear of the defence and beat the keeper to make the score 2-1. Unfortunately, a couple of individual errors left the Colts trailing 4-1 at half time and facing an uphill task in the second, but they competed and passed the ball well and were unfortunate to concede two more.
Sam C was excellent in goal making some great saves, his distribution allowing Somi, Devan and Fin to break quickly. Sam L, Oscar, Danny and Jack worked tirelessly in midfield and only last-ditch tackles prevented Archie and Somi scoring.
