Built for girls who want more

The Female Talent Pathway (FTP) is a club-led performance programme developed in partnership between Rugby Borough Women & Girls FC and Rugby Borough Women FC. It gives talented young players a structured, higher-level environment to grow in, with a clear route toward the senior game.

This is where your game changes.

What it is

A performance programme for U12 and U16 players, competing in the JPL Warriors national girls league. Players receive individual development plans, qualified coaching, and access to the support structures of a senior women's club.

Who it's for

Female players who want to compete at a higher level and develop their game more intensively. You do not need to leave your Sunday grassroots team to join. Both are possible alongside each other.

The connection to the first team

Coaching principles and player standards are aligned directly with Rugby Borough Women FC. Players who progress through the pathway into the u21s or first team will already know the culture and expectations.

What's included

Everything you need to develop

Multiple sessions weekly

U12s receive two 60-minute sessions per week. U16s receive two 90-minute sessions, structured to match senior team training principles.

Every player receives a personal development plan, tracking progress, identifying areas to improve, and recording achievements throughout the season.

Senior player coaches

Rugby Borough Women FC players work alongside pathway coaches as part of their contracts, bringing real senior women's football experience directly to training.

Physio access

Players have access to physiotherapy assessment and treatment for injuries, supporting proper long-term physical development.

Coaching and development

Built around the player

Every element of the coaching structure is designed to develop the whole player, not just their football. Pathway coaches share the same philosophy as the Rugby Borough Women FC senior coaching team.

Your questions answered

What you need to know

We want joining the pathway to feel straightforward. Here are some of the most common questions we hear from players and families.

Yes. Pathway training and JPL fixtures run separately from Sunday grassroots football. Players are actively encouraged to continue playing for their grassroots team alongside the pathway.

Fees are higher than grassroots to reflect the additional training. A full fee schedule is provided on joining. Monthly payment plans are available, and we will always speak confidentially with families where cost is a concern.

The JPL Warriors is a national girls football league operating from U12 through to U18, widely regarded as the highest-level girls league in the country.

No. The programme does not currently hold FA ETC or PGA status. It is a club-led development programme built to the coaching standards and philosophy of Rugby Borough Women FC, with ambitions to pursue formal status in the coming seasons.

All staff hold current DBS clearance and FA Safeguarding in Football certification. Our dedicated Club Welfare Officer is Sharon Smyth. Any concern can also be raised with Sian Osmond or directly with Birmingham County FA.
