A great game of football for our talented young U8s team against a very good Anstey Nomad side who always give us a game. Our U8s are turning out to be a fabulous side and showing lots of dedication, a willingness to learn, implement new things, play for each other and most importantly work for each other. The coaches see them getting better and better with each game.
Sophie allows us to play the way we play. She makes the saves, then gets the ball out quickly every time to start the attack.
Mia S gives everything and with her eye for a goal, if she’s not going to be a forward when she’s older (and the girls begin to settle into set positions) we’ll be surprised.
Mia H is a better player than she realises. She is now growing in confidence with every game and has a great footballing brain.
Grace is just Grace, the hearbeat of the team. Our tiger in the middle that can always be relied upon to break up play and start our next attack with a telling pass.
Brooke is a great sweeper and a wide player, when she gets the bit between her teeth, she is unplayable with her competitive edge.
Isabelle always plays with her heart on her sleeve. She is being sorely missed at the moment because of her competitiveness and forward drive and we can’t wait for her to come back.
Maddie is more of a creator from her throw ins and corners and has provided several assists for other players to score whilst also getting her fair share of goals too.
Gareth and Andy are so pleased that the girls are improving each week individually, as well as part of the team.
We are also so lucky to have such great and dedicated parents too who want their girls to get better. Both coaches have been deeply involved in junior football now for around 10 years and parents support and encouragement is a massive part of the journey. We are lucky to have such a great set of encouraging, supportive parents. It makes such a huge difference to the girls development as players.
