independent women & girls football club established

Rugby Borough Women’s & Girls FC was formed with 5 teams from the existing set up.

Founding sponsors Amber Utilities and McDonalds provide all players with training kits and match kits.

An all-woman committee is elected to uniquely dedicate support for this growth area. A founding principle the club will continue into the future.

Our first football festival

To promote our new club and attract new players we hosted our first football festival with teams across all age groups competing with visiting teams from across the country.

It was a wonderful celebration of girls football and we saw an influx of new members.

WSL LEGEND VISITS OUR GIRLS TRAINING SESSION

We were delighted to have WSL legend Kerys Harrop from Tottenham Hotspur visit our girls training session to inspire our girls.

Kerys chatted to each team and did a Q&A, even showing off her England cap and letting some lucky girls try it on!

EUROS EXCITEMENT BUILDS

As part of the FA build up to the Women’s Euros one of the Rugby Borough Girls MJPL players won a competition for the WSL trophy to visit her club!

A special training session was arranged so all members had a chance to come and see the trophy first hand and have their picture taken!

At the time we could only dream that our Lionesses would get to lift it as winners!
