This was an end to end game in the first half with both sides creating good attacking opportunities, however Rugby were creating more of the better chances with through balls beating the Warriors off-side trap. Jamie broke the deadlock for Rugby winning a pen, which he then converted. The Warriors were soon back on level terms following a Rugby defensive error.
However, Rugby continued to create excellent chances down both left and right wings, so we knew that there were more goals coming, duly Jamie steps up and scores again, cutting in from the right to score with his left foot into the top right hand corner. Next a break down the left and an excellent through ball from Charley left Alex one on one with the keeper, and he dinked it over the diving keeper. The half finished with an excellent save from Coops in the rugby goal from a Warriors free kick.

The second half continued as the first finished with Rugby creating chances, and they took a 4-1 lead following an excellent run from Kris down left, Charley squared to Jamie for shot from the outside of his right foot and he completed his hattrick. Rugby then lost focus and allowed Warriors back into the game with 2 goals, so it was 4-3 with 5 minutes to go; players and supporters anxiously holding on, Coops in Rugby’s goal kept his calm, making a great save with his legs when the Warriors forward broke through. However Rugby secured the win with Charley latching on to Lowan’s through ball to take Rugby top of the League!

Man of the match was Kris for his excellent runs down the left and strong defensive work.
