MATCH REPORT

U11's Girls v Whetstone Foxes

Wow!! What an entertaining game of football both teams treated us to on a damp miserable autumn day. The Boro travelled to Whetstone with a large squad for a late afternoon kick off very much looking forward to their first match in the Green division.

With the match split into quarters to make the most of the large squad the team set up in their tried & tested formation.  The first quarter saw the teams evenly matched with some great running from Amber leading the line supported by some excellent box to box midfield work from Evelyn whilst Lyra and Holly made some great interceptions in defence.

Into the second quarter the team really pushed on creating lots of chances through skilful dribbling from Anais & fantastic accurate passing from Anna & Ava.

The 3rd quarter was more of the same with great forward running from Imogen & Emily pinning the opposition back creating good chances including an audacious corner kick attempt.

The final quarter was an end to end affair and the opposition deserve great credit for the way they pushed forward however they were met with strong tackling from Summer and fantastic defending from Connie. Freya again was on hand to make some excellent saves & also kept the opposition on their toes with her long kick out’s to help start attack’s for the team.

A really exciting match and as always its a real pleasure to see the girls so happy and really enjoying their football at the end of every game. Well done girls.
