MATCH REPORT

U10 Girls v Thurlaston Panthers

17th May 2021

Rugby Borough U10’s had a home match against Thurlaston where the girls worked wonderfully as a team and their hard work was rewarded.

Peyton spent the entire match in goal, making some excellent clearances with her long-range kicks, enabling the team to push forward and create space. Rugby got off to a strong start with Amber making some strong challenges and using her great pace to work her way up through the opposition.

The opposition’s goalie made a quick clearance, Anna was on the right wing and saw this opportunity, and she intercepted the ball before it reached the defender and created a super chance for the team.

Summer took a stint on the right wing, working well with Ruby and Amber. The front three raced up through the oppositions defence and Summer was able to secure a fantastic opportunity.

Lyra and Sophia were keeping the oppositions powerful strikers at bay, Sophia kept her eye on the game and consistently made great tackles. Lyra was gaining control over the ball and making some wonderful runs up the field and made accurate passes to Emily who was in midfield. Emily worked hard and dribbled well with the ball before making great crosses to Ruby.

Summer, Anna, Amber and Ruby were communicating well together, and consistently passing the ball between themselves. Ruby used her strength to regain control over the ball and used her fantastic footwork skills to work her way up the field creating some great chances and her efforts were rewarded.

The girls delivered their best performance yet, it’s great to see them all growing in confidence with every match.
