On a brisk Sunday morning down Kilsby lane, Rugby Borough U10 Girls welcomed Leicester City in what turned out to be a very entertaining semi final.
The Borough Girls started brightly, Isobel, Isla and Elisia causing problems to the City defence with their constant movement. Brooke G and Lara were solid at the back and Sophie was pretty much a spectator for the first 10 minutes, Maia was her typical energetic self chasing down every ball and player in the middle of the pitch.
Mia, Ellen, Brooke A and Izzie were introduced and put a shift in, covering nearly every blade of grass and battled for everything.
This was a far greater and more physical Leicester team than the one we played earlier on in the season, credit to the coaches and the girls for how far they have progressed!!
Massive well done to the Borough Girls who battled right until the end and move on to the Final!! From Game 1 to now they’ve come along as a team and are playing some lovely football and working as a team.
Girl of the game – Elisia – bossed it out field first half and then came up with a brilliant triple save in goal right at the end.
