Rugby Borough U16 Colts (1) vs Ambleside (2)

The Colts will feel themselves unlucky not to get at least point in this match where they created many chances.

A deflected shot after a couple of minutes gave Ambleside the lead. From there onwards, the opposition were reduced to set piece attempts and long shots which goalkeeper Sam dealt with easily.

The defenders gave the team a great base to attack from, with Harry, Will and Herbie making some driving runs and Nathan dangerous at set pieces.

Somi was a constant threat with his pace and won a penalty, which Thomas stepped up to convert and draw the sides level. Further chances were created by Oscar, Danny, Somi and Thomas, but the ball would just not hit the net. With 5 minutes left Ambleside snatched a goal on the break. But still the Colts pressed forward and Archie almost grabbed an equaliser with a last minute free kick.

All in all, a close game from which the RBFC U16 Colts deserved a different score. However, the team moves forward taking confidence from a strong attacking performance.
