Meet The Team – Young Leader Molly

10th February 2020

In the second of our planned series of ‘Meet The Team’ here at the Women’s and Girls club, we’d like to introduce you to Molly. Molly is another one of our fabulous Young Leaders.

Molly is FA qualified to coach and runs our sessions for our age 4-6 year old girls on a Friday night. She is also a fully qualified FA referee and can be regularly seen officiating games for boys, girls and all open ages. To complete the full suite of qualifications she is also one of our younger players in our Women’s team.

Molly will soon be helping out further as we launch our newly approved FA Wildcats Centre on Monday 2 March 6-7pm at the fabulous 3g pitch at Kilsby Lane. Having previously trained to run these sessions with none other than Birmingham FA, Women and Girls Football Development Officer Kerri Welsh who is also Aston Villa Women’s club captain, lots of experience and insight gained from these sessions. These qualifications helped the application process be super smooth for the club.

When Molly isn’t coaching, officiating games or playing she is an air cadet in the Royal Air Force and being super fit, she is a hopeful for the Wing Finals cross country running event representing her squadron at national level.

A high achiever who is always pushing herself to be the best version she can be, Molly was awarded Best New Recruit in 2017 29F Air Cadets squadron, collecting qualifications and badges in canoeing and swimming on the way. A keen traveller she has visited Poland, France, Arnhem, Germany and Belgium in the last year with plans to travel to Arnhem, Belgium and Cyprus again this year with her fellow cadets.

At Rugby College she is studying for a level 3 BTEC in Engineering. Molly has also completed her Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards and is working confidently through her Gold award.

‘I enjoy physical activity and problem solving which is why I love football and started volunteering at Rugby Borough Women and Girls FC. It’s been very rewarding seeing the 4-6 year old age group develop their skills but also have so much fun mixing games and fitness skills together. The girls just love the mini hurdles and ladder races! I can’t wait for the Wildcats Centre to get going and pass on my passion for the game to the young girls.’

Molly is an absolute credit to us at Rugby Borough Women and Girls FC. A huge inspiration and another one of our role models to our young girls. We appreciate everything you do Molly, keep up the great work!
