Twenty minutes in Emme scored for Rugby 1 – 0 after a beautifully placed cross from Evie.
A break away and great run by Isla 5 minutes before half time saw another chance on goal saved by the Narborough keeper. A goal kick with possession quickly won by Borough and Rosa with an absolutely cracking strike from way outside the box took Rugby to 2-0 up at half time.

Narborough came out all guns blazing after half time putting Rugby’s defence under pressure. An early break and Beth relentlessly ran down the striker. Followed by a Narborough cross into the goal, saved by Harriet. Then a corner and a shot on goal for Narborough that hit the post.

Borough fought back with a shot from Sharon, after a run from defence and a shot on goal, saved by the Narborough keeper.

Solid defensive work from Sharon, Ellie, Beth & Connie kept the ball out to keep Borough’s clean sheet in the second half to finish the game 2 – 0 to Rugby Borough Girls U12’s.

The girls dominated the match with accurate passing, space and a solid defence, with mid-field taking full advantage to whip down the wing for the goal.  In the face of adversity with the Narborough coach’s bullish loud voice dominating and distracting play, an awkward experience for all watching. The Borough girls rose above this to a great win.

Sharon’s solid defence, relentless running and tackling won her well deserved Player of the Match. Well done girls.
