Former professional Birmingham City Women FC player Cheryl has ties to Kilsby Lane as she started her football career here as a girl and has been impressed with how the club has improved and moved on over the last few years. Cheryl said ‘It was a deciding factor in where to base the academy, RBWGFC and the facility has that buzz feel of a professional girls academy and just seeing all of the smiling girls here on a Friday evening enjoying their football is a wonderful sight to behold.’

The Elite Girls Academy will provide age related technical coaching in small group sessions.

Age 8 – 12 sessions are purely technical, aiming to develop unbreakable technique using repetition and informative feedback from coach to player with information which is easy to follow and understand. Lessons are usually constructed around the players needs turning weaknesses into strengths and strengths into super strengths.

Age 12 – 16 sessions will be position specific with greater emphasis on tactical roles and responsibilities. Practicing techniques and scenarios to position in and out of possession
