MATCH REPORT

Coalville Ravenettes v Rugby Borough U8 girls

7th December 2020

Rugby U8’s made the trek to Coalville Ravenettes on what was a very cold and wet day. Conditions meant we were on the 3G pitch. The girls (considering having been on lockdown for 4 weeks and coming off the back of a shortened training session due to the biblical weather on Friday night) played with great enthusiasm and smiling through out. Our hosts played very well and were always testing our defence whilst resolutely defending their own goal. Willow and Betsy when in goal played with Cat like agility saving numerous attempts on goal.

Nora is really progressing well and ran her heart out whilst making some nice touches, even when she took a knock she desperately wanted to carry on.

Cerys and Caitlin were very busy in defence and tackled throughout and showing glimpses of their attacking skills when the opportunity arose. Elizabeth and Roisin were kept very busy in midfield, Roisin personally must have ran on paper at least 2 miles😂 and was determined to beat all in front of her, Elizabeth loves to beat defenders using her ever improving passing skills.

Alice attacked all game and consistently threatened the Coalville Goal.

It was a very tight even game, by the end of the game both teams looked tired and who can blame them after another COVID enforced break.

Back to training on Friday before our last fixture before Christmas next week vs our good friends at Rugby Town. The girls put a lot of effort in at training and are progressing really well as a team.

We go again…
