MATCH REPORT

Balsall & Berkswell vs Rugby Borough U12 Panthers

25th September 2021

Great team performance from the Panthers

Rugby Borough Junior Football Club Panthers travelled to Balsall and Berkswell today keen to improve after dropping points last week.

Panthers started very quick, a quick corner and sublime delivery from Jack for Liam to header home (5). A few minutes later, this time Lucas saw Liam in space who then controlled the ball out of the air and rattled the ball in the top corner from 20 yards!! (8). A couple of minutes later and after some high pressing, this time Liam created a goal for his 10 minute hat trick!!!

On 19 minutes Lucas found Luke in space who fired home, Panthers kept applying the pressure and the Balsall keeper was having a blinder!! On 28 minutes Luke then found Jayden who fired home his second of the season, a minute later a clever lay off from Jayden set Ben up to strike from the edge of the area!!

Any break from Balsall was quickly sniffed out by Kyle organising his defenders and the quick thinking from the rest of the Panthers to regain possession.

Panthers went in 6 up at half time!!

Second half and Balsall really gave the Panthers a go! However Panthers were very strong both ends of the field after mixing the team up again.
Liam turned provider this time setting up Lucas who smashed the ball into the bottom corner (44). Balsall hit Panthers on the break and caught Panthers keeper out his area to get a goal back.

Jaiden then set up Jonah (50) who scored from distance and an angle, we thought it was a cross but he was adamant it was a shot.

The game wasn’t over and Balsall still managed to grab another consolation late on. Credit to both teams who played a great game in an amazing spirit. Thank you to Roger Taylor for reffing at such sort notice.

Player of the match – Liam – with a 10 minute hat trick from midfield there could be only one person!! Gave everything on the pitch, cracking performance.

Captain next week – Kyle – Bossed the game, physical presence and quality on the ball!
